As you know, we have sold our home in Otay Ranch and are in the process of purchasing a home in Quintessa at Rolling Hills Ranch. First of all, the timing of our move was a really tough problem. We had purchased a new home, to be built at Del Webb's Sun City Hilton Head in South Carolina, and the closing was set for August 9. The furniture was being picked up on August 3, so the house for the most part was not in the pristine condition we would have wanted.

Then there was the market condition in July 2006, where, although home prices were not necessarily plummeting, the availability of prospects had dried up. And although we had a golf course home in Eastlake, people were not marching through the door!

We met Patti on the day we signed an agreement with her, and in that meeting, and in those to follow, she showed a genuine interest in Pat and me - as people, not just as clients. We're only sorry we didn't have the chance to know her even better, but the time was short. Without question, Patti is the best real estate person, personally and in qualification and communication, we have ever run into, and we have bought and sold nine homes along the way.

During the week we were to move, she negotiated an offer and by the next week, she called to tell us she had opened escrow and received a $5,000 earnest money check. Imagine our delight, since we had to set up a bridge loan for our new home and were facing two monthly payments.

The Torrey Pines escrow was opened on 8/9 - the same day we closed on our new home in Bluffton! We were told they were shooting for a 21-day escrow, and it happened.

Everything along the way was handled flawlessly and knowledgeably and friendly staff at the Patti McKelvey Team.
